Sustainability

Since the inception of the Aquamist Corporation, our social, ethical and environmental policy has been at the heart of the Aquamist business model.

Aquamist is committed to attaining the highest standards in ethical, responsible, and sustainable business practices. We believe this is the most appropriate way of doing business and our consumers will have a stronger connection with our brand as a result. Corporate social responsibility at Aquamist touches every part of the business and encourages all staff to contribute to the vision of significantly reducing the impact on the environment in which Aquamist operates.

Aquamist is seeking to make a difference across four key focus areas which include Our People, Our Environment, Our Community and Our Marketplace

Ethics

Ethics is one of the four commitments of our CSR program. Our company is committed to respecting the main ethical principles to conduct its affairs and working exclusively with partners who share these principles. Ethical business codes and best business practices are implemented within our sales network and by our management, which ensures that they are respected. Apart from these commitments, we believe that ethics are a way to regard business conduct on a daily basis. Corporate Social Responsibility is an integral part of our business, and we are committed to continually doing better.

We understand that consumers, customers, and employees want to understand their ethical impact when purchasing and supplying our products. Our suppliers are important to our business and we expect them to meet our specific standards in relation to human rights, environmental, and ethical business practices. All supplier sourcing is reviewed and approved by our management team. Aquamist is committed to ensuring it meets its social compliance responsibilities and will always adhere to ethical practices spanning labour rights, safety, quality, and the environment.

Environment

Aquamist is committed to reducing its environmental footprint. Aquamist strives for continuous environmental improvement by the application of the following 4 guiding principles: reduce, reuse, recycle, and replace. Aquamist has a number of environmental initiatives in place in our Australian distribution center, including: working with our environmental partners to reduce waste contributing to landfill each year. Ongoing commitment to the Australian Packaging Covenant (APC) to reduce the environmental effects of packaging in Australia

Electricity demand reduction programs

At Aquamist, we value the natural environment and acknowledge the benefits responsible, sustainable management deliver to our employees, customers, suppliers, the broader community, and the environment. We will strive for continuous improvement in the sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, handling, and disposal of our products through the application of our guiding principles: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, and REPLACE

Our People

At Aquamist, we want to maintain and improve levels of employee satisfaction and performance. Preserving our employees’ personal health and wellbeing and enabling the right work-life balance are our top priorities. We believe that an organization’s most valuable assets are their people. Therefore, we strive to deliver the best possible workplace environment to all of our employees, making their lives easier, healthier, and more productive. These work-life improvements translate into more efficient workplaces, more engaged employees, and increased company loyalty.

Our Marketplace

Consideration of the impact a business makes on the environment and the communities in which it operates is becoming more important every day. Increasingly, people are thinking about how a product is made rather than focusing solely on the product itself. This concern also extends to the environmental and social conduct of suppliers.

Our Community

Looking after the communities in which the Company’s employees and consumers live is the right thing to do, and Aquamist values the deeper connections it is endeavouring to build with them. The company’s community investment program aims to enhance the social and economic wellbeing of the communities where its employees live and work. Aquamist continues to support a number of charitable organizations including:

  • Human Appeal Australia

  • McGrath Foundation

  • Nippers (Surf Life Saving Australia)

  • Médecins Sans Frontières

Health and Safety

The health and safety of employees is a top priority for Aquamist. Our health and safety policy demonstrates the commitment of Aquamist’s management to providing staff with the highest levels of health and safety. Aquamist aims to remove/reduce the risks to the health, safety, and welfare of all staff, contractors and visitors. Aquamist aims to ensure all work activities are done safely. Aquamist’s Management is fully responsible for providing and maintaining:

  • a safe working environment

  • safe systems of work

  • plant and substances in safe condition

  • facilities for the welfare of all workers

  • any information, instruction, training and supervision needed to make sure that all workers are safe from injury and risks to their health.

The principles in this policy apply to all Aquamist locations. This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure its ongoing effectiveness and to facilitate the continuous improvement of our social, ethical, and environmental performance at The Aquamist Corporation.
